Recently we did a post about GE being targeted by hackers, which automatically made us ponder what Jack Donaghy, Alec Baldwins fictional character on NBCs 30 Rock, would do to fix this issue. Well, we guess that since he is playing the Cable Town game these days, probably not much. Though another data breach made us think of another pop culture reference.
Thanks to a vulnerability exposed by the third-party company that manages the online state park pass purchases for Maine State Parks, those who bought park passes online last year may have had their credit card information exposed. Thankfully, so far theres been no evidence of fraudulent charges on the exposed cards, and the Department of Conservation has sent out notices to 970 credit card holders in Maine.
So, how would Leslie Knope, the fictional character played brilliantly by Amy Poehler on the NBC show Parks and Recreation, handle this data breach? Since she is very passionate about serving the people of Pawnee, Indiana, she would have mostly likely fallen on her sword and taken the blame. She would have also certainly notified all of the credit card holders, much like the Department of Conservation did in Maine.
Though how would she stack up against Jack Donaghy in this situation?
